Yanfeng Automotive Interiors (YFAI) is the world’s leading supplier of instrument panels and cockpit systems, door panels, floor consoles and overhead consoles.

A story of success

Yanfeng Automotive Interiors is a joint venture between two strong market players: Yanfeng, one of the largest automotive suppliers in China and Adient the global leader in automotive seating (formerly a part of Johnson Controls).

Yanfeng hold the majority 70 percent share in the joint venture, and Adient has a 30 percent share. The Yanfeng brand’s heritage stretches back to 1978, when two factories merged. Their joint mission was to create a leader in the Chinese auto industry. Various acquisitions and joint ventures helped the company grow into one of the largest automotive component suppliers in China.

Adient’s predecessor started out as a major automotive seating supplier that was part of a global diversified technology and industrial leader. Over the course of three decades, the company continuously expanded its portfolio to include the complete seating spectrum.

In 2015, the two companies entered into the joint venture that established Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, the world’s leading automotive interiors supplier.
